Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Review Posted by Dardin Kay on Nov 18, 2011 11:16 (183 days ago) |
Nathan Drake is back in the third installment of the Uncharted series but does the game live up to it’s predecessors?
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception provides an immense story that will keep your mind on the edge on what will happen next to where to go next. From the city to the desert, Nathan Drake embarks on a journey that Sir Francis Drake had concealed from the eyes of everyone. With the well known type of story in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, a story that will pull you in with tricks until the very end. The similar top tier graphics we have all come to expect in an Uncharted game is still existent in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
There are a few noticeable differences compared to the previous Uncharted game, a few faces have more detail and the scenery looks better than ever. Some new guns make a comeback into the game which offers more power and subtle ways to kill off your enemies. New animations have made it’s way into Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception which offers more enjoyment when you are beating down an enemy by taking his gun and hitting him in the holy grail spot. Treasures also make a return in the game but with one catch, the items are extremely hard to find compared to the previous Uncharted game.
A few characters make a re-appearance along with some that change the story for the worse after what happens in the game. But I will not say anymore as it will ruin the story.
Without spoiling too much of the story, it is a must play before you do anything else in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Not doing so will result in consequences (Not really...but it is a great story!) Naughty Dog has once again proved that the PlayStation 3 still has some juice left in the system before the next generation consoles arrive.
Now onto the multiplayer. After Uncharted 2, everyone was able to see what Naughty Dog can accomplish in a game that involves multiplayer. In Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, the company did not disappoint. The multiplayer provides endless hours of fun killing your friends/enemies online or trying out some co-op modes. I do wish that the co-op actually interacted with the story but then that would cause an unbalance between the actual story and co-op since the game is solely based on Nathan Drake. The co-op mode does provide some fun when you are playing with a buddy and want to get a good kick out of the game and show how insane the detail is.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is a great game that is worthy of every PlayStation 3 owner new or old to purchase and enjoy a great story and endless amount of fun in the multiplayer mode with the extra bonus of co-op modes which definitely makes this, the bets PlayStation 3 game to date.
10/10: Great game, amazing graphics, killer story and endless multiplayer.
